We all appreciate the benefits of preventative care, which is important to the long-term health and well-being of our pets. They may also recommend blood and urine testing, which can detect medical problems even before your pet starts showing clinical signs.

Internal Medicine

The majority of pets' ailments can be diagnosed and treated on an outpatient basis. We address a wide variety of medical problems, ranging from skin disease and gastrointestinal problems to heart disease and diabetes. Critically ill patients can be stabilized then referred to specialists and facilities that provide intensive 24-hour care if necessary.

Dental and Orofacial Surgical and Medical Treatment

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintain your pet's teeth and overall health, just as it is for yourself. During a dental procedure, your pet's teeth are thoroughly cleaned using ultrasonic technology, polished to prevent plaque buildup and treated with fluoride to strengthen enamel and reduce sensitivity. If indicated, radiographs can be taken. All additional procedures necessary are done only with owner's consent.

Our Dentistry department is under the leadership of Dr. Ken Briggs. Dr. Briggs began his work with animals by studying the oral anatomy and evolution of Northern elephant Seals found along US and Mexican coasts and islands. His passion for animals lead to masters and doctoral degrees in Marine Sciences. After several years of teaching and research, he went on to complete his Veterinary education at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Dental College where he received extensive training in a broad range of of dental and surgical procedures, including root canals, oral fracture fixation and more. Dr. Briggs enjoys continuing his education to stay current with new cutting edge technology through collaboration and consultation with Veterinary Dental Specialists throughout California.

Our team of experienced Doctors and veterinary technicians are available for routine dentistry as well as assisting Dr. Briggs with his specialty procedures.
